Science and technology are increasing at an alarming rate. In order to prepare my students for the needs of the 21st century, I have requested 5 Chromebooks with licenses. By having the Chromebooks in the classroom, my students will be able to run experiments, collect data, and analyze data. They will work hand in hand with the scientific method while increasing their technology skills and scientific literacy. Students today do not learn like students have in the past. By bringing the Chromebooks into the classroom, students will transition from a teacher-driven, sit and get classroom to a hands-on, flipped classroom. The students begin to drive the instruction and the teacher becomes the facilitator. My students will see the most growth when this shift happens and the Chromebooks will facilitate the change. My goal is to instill a love of science in my students. I believe the Chromebooks will allow them to research other ideas for their self-designed experiments, collect the data, and foster collaboration as a team while growing as an individual.
