Students will read the memoir "A Rip in Heaven" by Jeanine Cummins and fall in love with literature! This classroom set of books will be used numerous times a year for many years to help struggling readers analyze literature. "A Rip in Heaven" by Jeanine Cummins is a novel that many struggling readers and at-risk students relate to. The course, Young Adult Literature, needs current titles in order for students to discover the love of reading. By giving students access to this novel, struggling and at-risk readers will learn the necessary skills to critically analyze a text and make inferences.
