My students need essential bath and bedding items to take with them as they embark on their new life in college. Having new towels and sheets, laundry supplies, and reading lamps will ease the nervousness that is a natural part of managing major life transitions, and contribute to the excitement of moving away from home to attend college. The DEPSA Community will come together on College Decision Day to publicly recognize our seniors’ achievement and college decisions. This grant will allow us to purchase personal items needed for college life that will support our graduates’ transition to independent living. The event will showcase the rewards of staying in school, applying for college and celebrate this important and exciting rite of passage. At the same time, this event will reward our student’s commitment to higher education, give them a chance to share their stories and inspire other students to reach higher.
