During a guided reading lesson, students have access to a variety of materials, such as leveled readers, magnetic letters, alphabet charts, pencils, dry erase boards and markers, etc. Having these materials organized will allow me to make the most of our limited group time and provide more effective instruction. When children learn to read at an early age, they have greater general knowledge, expand their vocabulary and become more fluent readers. Reading has so many benefits and students have shown that strong oral language skills are the basis for literacy development. This storage unit will allow me to keep items needed for teaching reading easily organized and accessible.
