My students need access to different genres of books. They will be exposed to reading through the use of big books, concept readers as well as a selection of fiction and nonfiction books. The more words they know, the better readers they will become! My students will participate in Read Alouds, Shared Reading and Independent Reading sessions using a variety of texts. They will learn the foundations of decoding and comprehension skills which will help them to develop the skills and learn the strategies they need as they read harder texts. The big books are perfect for whole class and /or small group instruction. The ABC and concept books are suitable for small group and /or independent reading. These materials will provide my students with the building blocks they need to become super readers!
