Students currently have access to paperback bilingual dictionaries, but these come with a couple caveats. 1.They share them. 2. It takes them a decent amount of time to look up words by leafing through the pages, whereas an electronic dictionary could deliver results within seconds, saving them time and giving them time to continue to listen to the lesson. If the students had access to electronic language translators for class it would help them to keep up with the class better than they are with a paperback. Additionally, direct language translators are approved for use on the Florida state exams so the students would be able to use them during tests, which would save time for them. Also, some of our dictionaries don't have words they are looking up. The electronic dictionaries are able to store a lot more words than the paperbacks they have here.
