Our students will use the Dremel 3D printer to add to their ecosystems that they are designing in our cross-curricular Mars unit. Students have to research viable ecosystems and build an environment that will sustain life within the constraints of the project. This will enrich their experiences as they can have greater flexibility in designing and building their prototypes with the help of the 3D printer. The 3D pens allow more students access to the technology and can assist in building and modifying prints. The students are not just using the technology for building, but are also learning coding, and CAD programming. Students will need to communicate, apply critical thinking skills and be creative in how they complete their designs.
