My students LOVE to code! They've been learning the C programming language in class, and they need some different activities to reinforce these skills. The more ways they can use what they've learned in class and challenge their minds to think analytically, the better programmers they'll become! We need some enrichment game opportunities that present code a little differently, as well as some alternate robot technologies for students who need additional support. These games will present problems that can only be solved by thinking like a computer programmer! The alternate robot technologies will provide support to our students who are interested in learning to code but may struggle with some of the current robots we use. It will provide them with more block-like visual support to learn the same skills! We also have a coding club that meets after school. It provides opportunities for students who don't have room in their schedule to take a coding elective! This grant will support those students' needs, too, in the same ways!
