Having a comfy and cozy area, complete with a rug, will be an open invitation for my students to choose a good book and to sit and read for a while. Just like adults, children desire a place to escape, and the more comfort we offer, the more likely they are to stay. This ability to stick to it when reading is something, we teachers, call "stamina". With your help, we can build stamina for reading by providing my busy KinderBees with a cozy spot or, if you will, a comfy "hive" for all of their read-to-self or read-to-others adventures within our room!
