My students have a love for knowledge. Classroom magazines give students opportunities to connect with the current news at their level for reading. Students use these magazines for the four content areas of: reading, writing, science, and social studies. Scholastic News is a fun way for the students to connect with the world around them. The magazines will give the students exposure to nonfiction text in a relevant manner. Reading and writing in the content areas of science and social studies are becoming increasingly important in 3rd grade. We will use the magazines in the classroom to incorporate current events into those subject areas.
