Having taught middle school for almost ten years now, one thing I have learned is that ALL students are innately curious and crave exploration and making discoveries. The more we are able to supply our students with those opportunities to do just that, they will continue to feed those curiosities and accomplish brilliant things in their future. These supplies will allow students to engage in hands-on STEM activities where they can build, manipulate, observe, and analyze data. Not only with the supplies assist in instructional STEM lab activities, but the storage supplies will allow students to locate supplies that they can use to complete our "Quickie STEMies" should they finish their independent work quickly. The "Quickie STEMies" allow students to explore STEM concepts outside of what we are currently learning. This also helps to encourage students to stay curious and develop an understanding of scientific concepts in real world scenarios. STEM education allows students to develop the skills necessary to be successful in today's workplace. The core focus is to encourage students to make connections, draw conclusions, develop deeper meanings and understandings, as well as communicating effectively.
