Students learn well when they can touch and feel. Triple-beam balances provide students with a hands-on opportunity to measure the mass of various objects. When tasks can be simulated with these types of items, students are more likely to have lasting connections and remember what they are learning. These experiences will also build lasting impressions on my students that may further their love of science and mathematics. My students complete science labs throughout the year which incorporate mass and volume in their data. Having working materials will provide students a real-life experience rather than something they watch in a video. I would like to purchase three triple-beam balances for students to practice and learn how to measure as we complete many hands-on experiences and collect data in our science class.
