My students here in Alabama come from diverse backgrounds. Each class is culturally mixed, which gives each child a well rounded education. My students absolutely love science and math. However, most of them have not had an experience in the classroom of "doing" science. During our space unit, they are very interested and curious about the world, universe, and galaxy. Since our school is a Title 1 school, most students need some sort of intervention. being able to give my students the best education is so important because school may be the only place they get to experience activities their culture may not allow them to do.
