Hi! My name is Elba Burrowes and I am a bilingual Speech Language Pathologist working with elementary education students with special needs within the NYC Department of Education. Most of my students present with speech and language impairments which hinder their ability to learn and process information in their educational setting. My role as a Speech Language Pathologist is to help understand the underpinnings of language that are impaired and facilitate strategies that will help students succeed in the classroom. Many of my students come from low socioeconomic backgrounds and lack access to educational materials and/or resources that will aid their educational advancement. As a professional I want to facilitate all means of education so that all my students can become successful learners.
