My students love stories and topics that they can relate to. When the character is a child with a similar story to them, they are more engaged and ready to go. These articles are written with students in mind as they explore topics that students are interested in, while covering grade level standards. These classroom magazines will help to show students that information can be engaging. Using these magazines, we will cover different standards and concepts (main idea/key detail, cause and effect, sequencing, author's purpose), while having fun learning about a variety of topics.
