The requested materials will support and target two specific student's needs, social and emotional learning, and motivate students to read. The school and district focus has been to support students social and emotional learning, and really target to create a balanced atmosphere where students feel safe and ready to learn. The furniture was purposefully selected based on color, size and comfort to target emotional comfort and at the same time promote a fun and safe classroom library. The requested materials will multi-function and serve as the "classroom meeting" area, read aloud, group reading and independent reading area. Equally important, the furniture will support students needs by choosing furniture that allows and promotes movement while focusing and staying on-task.
