About my class

These materials will help inspire my scholars to use hands-on learning as well as mental math to make sense of math problems. The foam base-ten blocks will help us with our geometry and fractions. For the most part, we use dry erase boards and markers to work in small groups and on whole class lessons. I'm not sure what happens to our class supply of pencils, but they need to be replenished often. We work really hard in class, but it is often hard to complete homework without these necessary tools. It would be so nice to equip my scholars with tools at home in a more relaxed and slow paced environment, so that they can contribute to our classroom. The personal pencil sharpeners would be great to use at home. While I do ask that each scholar brings a calculator to school, they also need them for home. A class set would be nice to have. They need to know that we care about their academic growth outside of school as well. Many of my scholars complain that they needed tools at home but did not have access to them, so they could not complete the assigned work. I just want to make it easier for them and take away any hurdles that they make encounter.
