My students are kindergartners with wonderful imaginations! They love books and being read to. I have students who come to school being able to read independently at various levels. I also have students who cannot identify letters in their names. Our school district has a high poverty level, and some students have had little or no exposure to books at home, which sets them up for failure academically. This makes it challenging to teach to all students and help them enjoy their school experience.
