Flexible seating gives students the opportunity to take charge of their learning by choosing where they can best learn in the classroom. During independent work time, students choose a location in the classroom that works for them. When students feel empowered in decisions that impact their learning, they are energized and engaged. The difference is students begin to take more ownership of their learning by something as simple as the choice in seating. How students work and learn best is what matters in education today. If I can support my students by offering flexible seating and that in turn provides a better learning experience, then I have given my students the tools to be successful.
