We do not currently have enough laptops at our school for my students to gain the important 21st-century skills needed for college and future careers. With these Chromebooks, students can embark on field trips to places all over the world. They can research historical topics and learn to write research papers. Students can learn to type, edit, and navigate a laptop so they are better prepared for college. I do not want a lack of technology to keep my students from being successful. Students are expected to complete all state testing on laptops. They need to practice reading, typing and navigating the laptops if we expect them to perform well on these state tests. My students deserve a chance to have ALL the resources they can so they can succeed. These Chromebooks will help close the achievement gap in my school.
