Technology such as Chromebooks, allows students with disabilities to access their education by assisting them in the areas of communication, typing skills, research, literacy and math instruction. The six special education programs at my school don't have their own computers to use when needed. For 10 regular classrooms and 6 special education programs, we have approximately 60 computers to share. This allows teacher to have computer access only one time per week. I work with students who may have a specific learning disability in the area of Writing and are able to produce written work by typing their reports. Student with disabilities in the area of Reading will benefit from hearing a text read to them. Students are often researching for projects and need access to the internet to find sources of information.
