These nonfiction Scholastic magazines will expose my students to more topics than I could teach them about within a normal school day. They will have the opportunity to read with each other and grow their knowledge about science topics we have already begun learning about as well as new ones. They ask for nonfiction books often, so these magazines will excite and engage them in a way that my classroom library is not able to do right now. I have the privilege of watching my students grow from non-readers to readers each year in Kindergarten and these materials will play a pivotal role in their reading success.
