The Girls Leadership Academy of Arizona is an all-girls high school in the heart of Phoenix. We are a college preparatory school that is focused on preparing young ladies for life after high school. Our single floor school does not have many of the amenities that big schools have; such as a track, athletic courts, physical education classes, etc. If we can obtain small equipment like jump ropes, ab mats, and kettle bells. The girls can get a good workout and enjoy some physical activity. Our goal is to start with small equipment and build from there. There are many studies showing the benefit to the mind and body when engaged in physical activity and our young ladies have expressed a desire to start to workout. I hope that this project will show there is a need for this at the school and therefore get funding for a bigger project through the district/agency.
