This school year, our class fully-immersed our lessons into digital learning. In the beginning of the school year, I initially planned to use multiple digital tools that fit perfectly into our learning community. However, several of our key digital tools were not compatible with the laptops currently shared by my two classes of 3rd and 4th graders. The move to shift our learning digitally had shown deeper engagement in our students. They look forward to competing morning work and getting into individual or small group tasks. It felt as if the tools were the missing pieces of the learning puzzle. Marc Prensky said it best when he asserted that for us to better reach our students, we need to start "speaking" their language when he coined the terms, 'digital natives' and 'digital immigrants'. As such, we would like to request for 5 refurbished Ipads to be part of our digital tools to better access digital resources and tools in portfolio-making, making student videos of learning, and coding projects. Just like how the changes we've made this school year impacted our teaching and learning, this project will impact our learning community greatly and we are extremely grateful for your help.
