Now more than ever, proficiency in other languages is a valuable asset that sets students apart as they prepare for life after high school. Online platforms such as Quizlet, Duolingo, and Quizizz, among others, provide students hands-on, collaborative practice and immediate feedback. They also track progress and help students create new goals as they master concepts. I frequently use these activities as bellringers or exit tasks. Indeed, language learning today is so much more than repeating phrases and translating dialogues. Our district recently acquired tablets for classroom use. Protective cases will reduce the risk of damage and multi chargers will keep the tablets ready for action throughout the day.
