For College Acceptance Day our school wants to provide our seniors with materials that will help them to be successful as they start their college career. Our students will be attending the local area technical college and we want to provide them with technology to be successful. The sense of pride in the institution you attend promotes a student's ability to feel a part of the college community starting on day one.
By providing access to Chromebooks, our students will be able to complete homework away from the college campus as well as use this in their classes to take notes and access online resources. Our school is working daily to promote a college-going mindset in our students. By showing all our students, 9th-12th grade, that our seniors are celebrating their college acceptance with a signing day we hope to build and grow this mindset throughout their high school career. The ability to reward the students that have persevered through the college application process, FAFSA completion, and high school completion will build trust among our student body that the adults in their school believe that they are worthy of this reward. It also will display the sense of pride that our staff has for our students and their accomplishments and our hope for their futures.
