Our students learn best by using hands on activities to learn difficult math concepts. Math can unfortunately be stressful and confusing for many students. As a kindergarten teacher, I believe it is important to make math fun and exciting by using hands on tools, as well as using creative ways to show what we are learning. My students will be using the magnetic ten frame boards, number tracing boards and art supplies to help develop number fluency. Students will use dot painters and washable ink pads to model and develop their number sense and understanding of addition and subtraction concepts. These concepts will be the foundation to future math concepts in later grades.
