The individual cells, microorganisms, bacteria and fungi can be seen using a compound microscope. Comparing these organisms helps students learn about the variety of life on Earth. Also, the way in which microscopes work can be used to teach students about the properties of light, the physics behind lenses and mirrors and staining techniques for various specimens. New microscopes will enrich learning by letting my students see otherwise invisible items and will help create deep learning connections with concepts that are incredibly difficulty to visualize, especially for Special Needs student population. The incredible gift of microscopes will give an opportunity for my students to come closer to grade level scientific curriculum while having a great time building knowledge about the incredible world around them.
