I serve students in 4th-6th grade who has a deficit in Reading. Most of my students are 1-2 grade levels below their current grade. I pull out up to 6 kids per group daily for 30-60 minutes and also push in classrooms to support the teachers. I group my students based on data that our district inquires 3 times a year. I use that data to create my groups. Most of my students lack the foundational skills that are taught in 1st-2nd grade. I work daily on these skills that are needed to become a successful reader. It's extremely important that all students master the foundational skills first. If students don't master these skills, they will struggle in all other areas of reading. Due to the lack of funds to provide laptops for all students and staff, I am without a laptop. This is a challenge for me because all classrooms have Promethean Boards, but I don't have the technology to access it or print.
