In our Kindergarten classroom, students sit at tables rather than desks. In the past, supplies were kept in the middle of the table and everybody at each table shared. Now that we are dealing with classroom changes due to COVID-19, keeping kids safe is our number one priority. Individual seat sacks on the back's of the classroom chairs will provide each student with a personal space to store their supplies. The seat sacks will be used to store supply boxes (crayons, pencil, eraser, dry erase marker, highlighter) and folders used for different subjects. This will allow students to quickly access the materials they need throughout the day but also help keep them apart from other children using them.
Students appreciate a well-organized and managed classroom space!
Having materials close by and easily accessible creates security for young learners and makes them feel safe in a new environment. It also teaches students to be responsible by practicing organizational skills and taking care of their belongings.
When it comes to organizing materials and having a system for accessing classroom materials, seat sacks are where it's at!
