My students need 28 subscriptions to Scholastic News and TIME For Kids subscriptions to help expose them to nonfiction literature on a regular basis. Students will love the opportunity to learn about current events! My students need to practice analyzing nonfiction texts. I would like to use the Scholastic and TIME magazines as a small group instructional tool as well as independent practice tools. What these kids need the most is exposure to the world around them. That is exactly what I believe Scholastic and TIME For Kids magazines will do! My students will grow so much by interacting with these nonfiction texts. They will improve their fluency skills as well as expand their academic vocabulary by reading these regularly.
