In my classroom, we do project-based assessments. For one of our projects, we need a classroom set of the copy of "Ghost" by Jason Reynolds. This is a really exciting story about a middle school student that sprints on a track team. He learns that he needs to let go of some of his emotional baggage to become the fastest track runner on his team. I think my troubled boys would absolutely love this book. It is also a required text for our curriculum, so we would be using this every year, for many years to come. Since they are hardback, they should last for quite a while.
