In the center of our building we have an open courtyard. Currently we have 5 garden bed where we run a vegetable garden. We would like expand our garden to be an outdoor student-centered learning environment. We are calling it, "W’s Living Library." Our goal is to transform areas of the courtyard for student-centered learning. There will be a butterfly habitat observation area, a plant and water learning area, and a weather station investigation center. By creating a weather station, our children can learn about our environment, collect and record data, and make environmental predictions. We would like the students to collaborate and explore weather results with each other at the weather station investigation center. They will also have the opportunity to check out books from the Little Free Library Box that will be full of informational weather books. This project is one of three projects that will ultimately create our Living Library. Thank you for your support.
