My Esol students use green highlighters to identify the characters, pink highlighters to identify places orange highlighter unknown words and yellow highlighter and important information. The sticky notes are a great tool to write important notes while reading a book or reading an article in class or at home. The sticky notes and the highlighters are very helpful tools because are used as a strategy of differentiation. My high level students use the sticky notes and my newcomers use the highlighters. Every lesson requires a lot of interaction between students and teacher. These tools help my students reach their educational goals and interact during the lesson by identifying important information.
