The materials will make a difference in my classroom by creating an environment that will meet many reading levels and show them different forms of art. The audio books are to meet the needs of all learning levels. In addition it will teach student about whole body learning. This is a way of teaching positive growth mind set for the students too. The books I have choose are books that students of the 5th grade age are asking for. Our building is K-5 and most books are geared toward the younger students. Plus, by having access to the books in the classroom rather than the building library, more students will attempt to read them. This allows for us to have book talks in our classroom. I have asked for audio books paired with text so struggling reader will have access to visual/audio vocabulary. They will engage in reading more because they can understand the book. They will be able to access books that are of their age level and interest not just their reading level. The violin is not common. It is a form of art and reading. Using this as a tool to show students how reading a book is similar to reading music. Allowing them to try to play is what it was like for them to try to learn to read.
