We have a storm drainage ditch that runs through our campus and my students have elected to study its characteristics and improve its water quality as an after school project. This is a suburban school with an ethically diverse population. Most of our students have never been farther than 10 miles from our school. In our studies of the water quality, we are doing monthly chemical analysis, and clean up project of the site; as well as storm drain anti-pollution labeling for the city, our after school science team was recognized by Staples as one of the best in the Southwestern United States.
