Having four additional laptops will increase learning in a variety of ways. First, students during math and reading will be able to access software that differentiates content based on their specific learning needs. For example, one student could be working on letter recognition, while another student could be learning about vowel pairs. Also, students will be able to complete research projects using the technology. Every spring each student chooses an animal to complete a report and presents this report to the class. Having the additional technology would ensure that students are given adequate time to pursue their topic. Finally, the students would be able to work in pairs which would foster creativity and collaboration. Encouraging these social skills in Kindergarten is critical.
