My students are a passionate, eager to learn, inquisitive group of third graders. Many of our students come from low income families and have not been exposed to many experiences. Most are also English language learners coming from other countries and in the process of learning English. Since our school has a high population of language learners, we strive to engage them in visual, hands on learning to make abstract concepts more concrete. I teach at a Title I school where over 90% of our students receive free lunch.
