Have you ever felt the triumph of completing a puzzle? My students love working puzzles! They show excitement as they work through it and feel accomplished to set the final piece. We have such a need for new puzzles. Currently, our students are working with puzzles that are far past gently used; they have both torn edges and missing pieces. We want brand new, large puzzles so our students can easily see the shapes, pictures, and themes. By working such puzzles, our students will learn to work cooperatively, think critically, and problem solve strategically. Our room has a large carpet area perfect for building the new puzzles and a small shelving unit perfect for housing the new puzzles; we are only missing the puzzles. Puzzles are an important educational tool for young children as they help to build and develop many skills - physical skills, cognitive skills, and social skills. The various benefits of building puzzles are multiple. Your donations to this project will help improve my students' problem solving, fine motor development, hand and eye coordination, and self esteem. My students and I look forward to using these new puzzles in our classroom.
