Distance dancing requires technology to connect with my students and teach my 600 dancers on a regular basis. With the use of a laptop and the proper accessories, my students will then be able to visually learn the correct way to move with proper alignment and safety. Teaching dance necessitates an instructor that is present and can demonstrate movements on a live video so students comprehend what is expected of them. Young dancers can also receive immediate feedback when I can see them and offer suggestions to improve their technique. Utilizing a laptop will enable me to view my entire class during instructional time. My students will also be able to see each other and learn from their peers. Technology will bring back some normalcy to the daily routine so students can benefit from dance education included in their instructional day. My students will be able to continue with the sequential lessons when we have the required technology. The children will be fortunate to have slides to view and music to dance to when we are all together in the same class. My dancers have a strong desire to express themselves, now more than ever before, as we transition into a virtual classroom.
