I'm moving to fifth! I will be at a new school next year, with a new bunch of students, in an entirely new grade level. I will be starting from scratch and hope this year will be even more successful than my last. Fifth grade is a big year for students as they prepare to move on to middle school. I will have 27 new students who I hope are as eager to learn from me as I am eager to teach them. Our school is located in a low socio-economic, and bilingual community. Many of the students in our community speak both English and Spanish. Language arts, reading and writing have proven to be tough subjects for students in our community yearly. My classroom is currently bare as I search for the perfect items to use in it. I am slowly building my library as well. It is my hope that through a well stocked class library, my students will develop a love for reading right away thus making it easier to teach ELA and writing.
