Do you like sitting in one place all day long? Is your chair hard and uncomfortable? This is a reality for many students in the average classroom. Over the past year and a half, I have started to transform my classroom into a comfortable space for students to learn and grow. My students have requested the addition of stability balls and new floor cushions to expand their seating choices. Students who are engaged, confident, and comfortable will be successful in school. With flexible seating, students will be able to choose what works best for them. Student choice requires the students to take ownership of their learning. I have already seen some amazing changes in students who have found the "perfect" seat for them. Their learning has skyrocketed and their engagement has doubled. If this was the case for all students, could you imagine all of the possibilities?
