My students are budding readers that are like sponges. They are constantly curious about the world around them and eager to discover and learn more about it. I always find that working in small groups encourages students at this young age to take risks with their ideas and thoughts. They feel free to express their thoughts and curiosity in a risk-free atmosphere. A guided reading activity table will help foster an atmosphere that will inspire them to reach their potential and grow and learn about themselves as people. Working with a small group encourages and promotes a child's confidence and ability to express themselves and become lifelong learners. The addition of a guided reading table will provide a place for my students to sit comfortably and enjoy their learning experiences in both math and ELA skills.
