Our students have a difficult time leaning the conventional way. Due to the nature of our students disabilities paper and pencil assignments are not an attainable option. Our students have sensory processing issues, in addition to difficulty with mobility in their hands and legs. This makes it extremely difficult to complete conventional task in the classroom. This sensory table will give our class the opportunity to learn concepts using our senses. For example we will be able to identify shapes by finding them in the water. As our students explore new concepts and ideas while using their hands they will not only learn to identify shapes, numbers, colors, and more. They will also get to explore tactile feelings. This is incredibly important when teaching students with autism.
