My kids have always been more motivated to learn when they were given freedom to make choices - where to sit, which writing tool to use, etc. Last school year, I tiptoed into a controlled, flexible seating environment and my kids liked the idea of choosing where they learn best. This fall, I would like to provide couches, soft seats and beanbag seats for my kids to choose from! When they have a choice, they stay more engaged and work harder! It also works as a classroom management tool for me to keep them motivated to work to their best of their ability.
