Our students are at a disadvantage when it comes to taking the ACT, which is the test that Oklahoma uses now to "grade and compare" schools. The graphing calculator would allow our students to more efficiently complete the Math portion of the ACT and therefore increasing their chance of attending a better college. I believe the calculators and the experience they will gain with them will enable our students to better compete with better funded schools and generate interest in STEM related careers. The introduction to today's calculator technology would open the eyes of our students to what is available out there in terms of education tech. They would also see the advantage that today's technology can give them in the educational process.
