AP English Language at our school prioritizes giving students access to 15 minutes of uninterrupted, independent reading every single school day. In the 2018-2019 school year, we will be prioritizing giving students access to higher Lexile, diverse, and banned books that will prepare students for university-level discourse. These books will serve as a library of resources in order for students to independently read and attain ideas they can then use as evidence in their writing, as well as in their discussion. Students crave access to various genres, which this project will greatly supplement. We are hoping to give a wide variety of reading experiences that can be used both inside and outside of the classroom.
