My students come form low-income backgrounds. We are at a school that is 60% Hispanic, 30% African-American and 10% everything else. It is a public school in a Title I district. The Yearbook Club has to do all its own fundraising for cameras, memory cards and travel expenses to camp. With the current economic situation, fundraising (and yearbook sales) are at an all-time low and we barely were able to make payment on this years bill, even with more fundraisers than ever. Having donations of the memory cards/readers would strengthen the program and take away the financial strain.
