I would love to provide my students with the choice in what kind of learning space works best for them. Flexible seating with these balance balls, lap trays, bouncy bands and more will allow my first graders to work and communicate with their peers in a fun, developmentally appropriate, and engaging way. This type of seating also encourages children to use critical thinking skills and practice self-awareness as they figure out which type of seating is appropriate for them on any given day. These seating options will be available throughout the day during various activities. I am most excited and eager to incorporate them into my daily center activities. This is a crucial learning period during our day when I am conducting small group lessons while the rest of the class is working on independent center activities. It is the perfect time for the children to really utilize and explore the various seating options.
