My students do not have computers at home, because they are generally poor and cannot afford them. Many lost all their books, toys, and computers when their homes were flooded. Tablets and listening stations will open up their learning, so they will be able to play and learn with enhanced technology. They will be able to access learning websites with games that challenge their thinking and help them learn about technology and through technology. Stories will come alive on the CD's read by professionals. Most students do not have books in their home. They cannot afford book orders from Scholastic. My students were disadvantaged before Hurricane Harvey, and devastated by Hurricane Harvey! My students cannot compete with students in more prosperous schools, if they don't have the technology used by rich students.
